これはこの場合における法（ダンマ）のあり方である。比丘たちよ、これが法のあり方というものである——菩薩（ボーディサッタ）が母の胎内に宿るとき、その母は男性に対して欲楽（カーマグナ）にまつわる想いを起こさなくなり、また欲情を抱いた男性によって犯されることも決してない。これこそがこの場合における法のあり方である。
さて、世尊は清浄にして人智を超えた天耳界（ディッバ・ソータダートゥ）をもって、比丘たちのその談話を聞かれた。そこで世尊は座より立ち上がり、カレーリーの円堂（マンダラマーラ）へと赴かれた。赴かれてのち、設けられた座に坐され、坐して世尊は比丘たちに告げられた——「比丘たちよ、汝らは今、いかなる
