He alone should enjoy the revenues produced in Sālavatikā and not share them with anyone else.’ Would the one who spoke like that make it difficult for those whose living depends on you or not?” “They would, worthy Gotama.” “But is someone who creates difficulties for others acting kindly or unkindly?” What do you think, Lohicca?
地獄あるいは畜生の境涯に堕ちるのです。ロヒッチャよ、そなたはサーラヴァティカーに住んでおられるのではありませんか」「さようでございます、ゴータマ尊者よ」「ロヒッチャよ、もしある者がこのように言ったとしましょう——『バラモンのロヒッチャはサーラヴァティカーに住んでいる。サーラヴァティカーから生じる収益は、ロヒッチャただひとりが享受すべきであって、他の者に分け与えてはならない』と。このように言う者は、そなたの施しによって生活を営む人々の妨げとなるでしょうか、それともならないでしょうか」「妨げとなるでしょう、ゴータマ尊者よ」「妨げとなる者は、その人々に対して慈しみの心をもって利益を念じているのでしょうか、それとも害を念じているのでしょうか」。ロヒッチャよ、これをいかに思われますか。
