「かくのごとく、その比丘（びく）は種々なる神通（じんずう）をあらわし得るのである」と。ケヴァッダよ、汝はいかに思うか。信なく浄信（じょうしん）なき者でも、信あり浄信ある者に向かってかく語るであろうか」と。「語りましょう、尊師よ」と。「ケヴァッダよ、わたしはこの神変示現（じんぺんじげん）の過患（かかん）を見るがゆえに、神変示現をば忌み嫌い、恥じ、厭い離れるのである。
二、記心示現（きしんじげん）
ケヴァッダよ、では記心示現とはいかなるものか。ここにおいて、ケヴァッダよ、ある比丘は他の衆生・他の人々の心をも、その意（い）をも、その思念をも、その尋思（じんし）をも見抜いて、こう告げる。「汝の心はかくのごとくあり、汝の意はかくのごとくあり」と。
