「しかしチッタよ、もし彼らがそなたに問うならば、私はこのように答えるでしょう。『私がかつて過去において得た自己の存在（attapaṭilābho）は、その時においてまことに実在（sacco）であり、未来と現在のそれは虚妄（mogho）にすぎません。私がやがて未来において得るであろう自己の存在は、その時においてまことに実在となり、過去と現在のそれは虚妄にすぎません。私がいま現在において得ているこの自己の存在は、この時においてまことに実在であり、過去と未来のそれは虚妄にすぎません』と。尊者よ、このように問われたならば、私はかくのごとく答えるでしょう。」
