「しかし、もしそなたたちが、『アンバッタ若人（まなびびと）は良き家柄の者であり、良家の子息であり、多聞（たもん）の者であり、言葉を巧みに表す者であり、聡明な者であり、ゴータマ沙門とこの件について論議する力ある者である』と思うならば、そなたたちは傍らに退いておれ。アンバッタをしてゴータマ沙門と論議せしめよ。」
