This includes making arrangements for giving and taking in marriage; for engagement and divorce; and for scattering rice inwards or outwards at the wedding ceremony. It also includes casting spells for good or bad luck, treating impacted fetuses, binding the tongue, or locking the jaws; charms for the hands and ears; questioning a mirror, a girl, or a god as an oracle; worshiping the sun, worshiping the Great One, breathing fire, and invoking Siri, the goddess of luck. これには、縁組みや離縁の取り持ち、婚礼の儀における散米の作法、さらには吉凶の呪術、胎児難産の処置、舌縛りや顎締めの呪法、手や耳への呪文（マントラ）の吹き込み、鏡・童女・神霊への託宣の問い、太陽神への礼拝、大神（マハト）への礼拝、口より火を噴く術、幸運の女神シリー（Sirī）を招く呪法——こうした類いのことがらが含まれる。このような低劣な邪術（ティラッチャーナヴィッジャー）による邪しまな生活（ミッチャージーヴァー）を、かれは慎み離れているのである。これもまた、かれの戒（シーラ）の一端をなすものである。
