This pertains to their ethics. There are some ascetics and brahmins who, while enjoying food given in faith, still engage in gambling that causes negligence. これもまた、かの者の戒（シーラ）に関することである。世に、信仰によって施された食を享受しながら、なお放逸の因となる賭け事や遊戯に耽る沙門・婆羅門たちがある。すなわち、八目あるいは十目の盤上遊戯、空中での盤上遊戯、地上の踏み越え遊び、貝細工遊び、双六の類、棒倒し遊び、籤引き、骰子（さいころ）遊び、葉笛、泥の鋤遊び、宙返り、風車遊び、升目遊び、車遊び、弓遊び、文字当て、心読み、楽器の物真似——かくのごとき、放逸の因となる諸々の賭け事・遊戯から、かの者は離れている。これもまた、かの者の戒に関することである。
