And what is the second ground on which they rely? There are gods named ‘depraved by play.’ They spend too much time laughing, playing, and making merry. 　では、第二の根拠とは何か。「戯れに堕した（khiḍḍāpadosikā）」と呼ばれる神々がいる。彼らはあまりにも長い時間を、笑い・戯れ・歓楽の境地に耽って過ごす。かくも長く戯れと歓楽の境地に住しているうちに、彼らの正念（sati）は失われる。正念を失ったゆえに、彼らはその神々の群れから没する。比丘たちよ、そのような存在のうちの一者がその身より没して、この境遇（itthattaṁ）に生まれ来ることは十分にありうる。この境遇に生まれ来た者は、やがて家（agāra）を離れて出家し、無家（anagāriya）の生活へと赴く。そして、鋭く・断固とした・ひたむきなる精進と、正しき意の作用（正思惟）とによって、ひとつの禅定（samādhi）の境地を体験する――
