Now, the being who was reborn there first thinks: And we were created by him. Why is that? Because we see that he was reborn here first, and we arrived later.’ ‘I am the Divinity, the Great Divinity, the Vanquisher, the Unvanquished, the Universal Seer, the Wielder of Power, God Almighty, the Maker, the Creator, the First, the Begetter, the Controller, the Father of those who have been born and those yet to be born. さて、比丘たちよ、そこに最初に生まれた存在は、かくのごとく思うのである。「われわれはこの尊き梵天（ブラフマー）によって創られたのだ」と。それはいかなる故か。「われわれはこの者がここに最初に生まれたのを見た。しかるにわれわれは後から生まれてきたのだ」と。
かの者は言う。「われこそは梵天（ブラフマー）、大梵天（マハーブラフマー）、征服者にして征服されざる者、一切を見渡す者、力を行使する者、自在天（イッサラ）、作者、創造者、最勝者、生みの親、統御者、すでに生まれたる者と未だ生まれざる者の父なり。これらの存在はわれによって創られたのである。それはいかなる故か。かつてわれにかくのごとき思いが起こったのだ。『ああ、他の存在たちもこの境涯（イッタッタ）に来たりてほしいものだ』と。かくのごとき、われの意の願い（マノパニダーナ）のとおりに、これらの存在たちはこの境涯に来たりたのである」と。
