Then the elephant-treasure submitted to taming, as if he were a fine thoroughbred elephant that had been tamed for a long time. Once it so happened that the wheel-turning monarch, testing that same elephant-treasure, mounted him in the morning and traversed the land surrounded by ocean before returning to the royal capital in time for breakfast. そのとき、比丘たちよ、その象宝（ハッティラタナ）は、まるで久しく調御されてきた優れた純血の象のごとく、調御（ダマタ）に従うようになった。比丘たちよ、かつてこのようなことがあった。転輪聖王（チャッカヴァッティ）は、その象宝を試みんとして、朝に乗り、大海に囲まれた大地を巡り終えて、朝食の時刻には王都へと帰り着いたのである。比丘たちよ、転輪聖王にはかくのごとき象宝が現れる。
さらにまた、比丘たちよ、転輪聖王には馬宝（アッサラタナ）が現れる。それは全身白く、頭は黒く、たてがみは柔らかく、神通力を具え、虚空をも駆けるものであった。
