これによってもまた、居士よ、これらの法が意味においても異なり、文言においても異なることを理解すべきである。
では、居士よ、無量（appamāṇā）なる心解脱（cetovimutti）とは何であるか。ここに、居士よ、比丘は慈（mettā）を伴う心をもって一方向に遍満させて住する。同じく第二の方向に、同じく第三の方向に、同じく第四の方向に。かくのごとく、上に、下に、横に、あらゆる所に、すべてにわたって、慈を伴う心をもって、広大にして、崇高にして、無量にして、怨なく、瞋なく、全世界を遍満させて住する。
