That’s what Ānanda said, and the teacher approved. Satisfied, those mendicants approved what Venerable Ānanda said. “Sir, I have heard and learned this in the presence of the Buddha: ‘Mindful and aware, the being intent on awakening was reborn in the host of joyful gods.’ This I remember as an incredible quality of the Buddha. 長老アーナンダはこのように語られた。師はこれを是とされた。そして、その比丘たちは満足して、アーナンダ長老の語られたことを喜んで受け入れた。
「尊師よ、わたくしはこのことを世尊の御前（おんまえ）において直接聞き、直接受け持ちました。『アーナンダよ、菩薩（ぼさつ）は正念正知（しょうねんしょうち）をもって、兜率天（とそつてん）の衆（しゅ）に生まれた』と。尊師よ、菩薩が正念正知をもって兜率天の衆に生まれられたこと、このことをわたくしは世尊の不思議にして希有なる徳（あたらしきこと・abbhutadhamma）として保ち伝えております。
また尊師よ、わたくしはこのことをも世尊の御前において直接聞き、直接受け持ちました。『アーナンダよ、菩薩は正念正知をもって、兜率天の衆にあり続けた』と。このことをもまた、わたくしは世尊の希有なる……」
