「しかし、尊師よ、比丘が『界に巧みな者（ dhātukusala）』と称されるに値する、また別の道理がございましょうか」「あり得るであろう、アーナンダよ。これら六つの界（dhātu）がある——欲の界（kāmadhātu）と出離の界（nekkhammadhātu）、瞋恚の界（byāpādadhātu）と無瞋恚の界（abyāpādadhātu）、害の界（vihiṁsādhātu）と無害の界（avihiṁsādhātu）と。アーナンダよ、比丘がこれら六つの界を知り見るならば、それをもってすでに『界に巧みな者』と称されるに値するのである」「しかし、尊師よ、比丘が『界に巧みな者』と称されるに値する、また別の道理がございましょうか」「あり得るであろう、アーナンダよ。これら三つの界がある——欲の界（kāmadhātu）、色の界（rūpadhātu）、無色の界（arūpadhātu）と。
