that which you should cultivate, and that which you should not cultivate. 「親しむべきものと、親しむべからざるもの、そしてこれらはひとしく生存の受け取りである」――このように世尊は説かれた。そして、それはこのことに依って説かれたのである。
「親しむべきものと、親しむべからざるもの、そしてこれらはひとしく生存の受け取り（アッタバーヴァ・パティラーバ）である」――このように世尊は説かれた。しかるに、何をもってこれを説かれたのであろうか。
尊師よ、いかなる生存の受け取り（アッタバーヴァ・パティラーバ）に親しむことによって、不善の法（アクサラ・ダンマ）は増大し、善の法（クサラ・ダンマ）は衰退するか――かくのごとき生存の受け取りには親しむべからずと。
また尊師よ、いかなる生存の受け取りに親しむことによって、不善の法は衰退し、善の法は増大するか――
