‘It’s not because of one’s eminent family that thoughts of greed, hate, or delusion come to an end. 「高貴な家柄に生まれたからといって、貪（ロバ）の法が滅し、瞋（ドサ）の法が滅し、癡（モハ）の法が滅するわけではない。たとえ高貴な家から出家していなくても——比丘たちよ、さらにまた、不真実なる人（アサップリサ）は大いなる家柄から出家したとしても……たとえ大いなる富裕な家から出家していなくても——もし彼が法に随って法を修し（ダンマーヌダンマッパティパンナ）、正しく行じ（サーミーチパティパンナ）、法に従って歩む者（アヌダンマチャーリー）であるならば、その者はそこにおいて敬われ、そこにおいて称えられるべきである」と。その修行（パティパダー）のみを根拠として、彼はその大いなる富裕をもって自らを高く称えることなく、また他者を蔑むこともない。比丘たちよ、これもまた真実なる人（サップリサ）の法（ダンマ）である。
