私は金銀財宝を受け取ることを慎み、生の穀物を受け取ることを慎み、生の肉を受け取ることを慎んだ。女性や少女を受け取ることを慎み、男女の奴隷を受け取ることを慎んだ。
眼（チャックフ）をもって色（ルーパ）を見るとき、私は相（ニミッタ）を取ることなく、細相（アヌビャンジャナ）を取ることもなかった。もし眼根（チャックフンドゥリヤ）が制御されないままにあるならば、貪欲（アビッジャー）と憂悩（ドーマナッサ）という悪しき不善の諸法が流れ込んでくるであろう。それゆえに私はその制御のために実践し、眼根を守り、眼根における律儀（サンヴァラ）を成就したのである。
