Doing so, lust infects their mind, resulting in death or deadly pain. Suppose a man was struck by an arrow thickly smeared with poison. Regularly wash the wound and anoint the opening, or else it’ll get covered with pus and blood. Don’t walk too much in the wind and sun, or else dust and dirt will infect the wound. そのようにして、貪り（ラーガ）がその心を染め汚し、ついには死に至るか、あるいは死に等しき苦しみをもたらすのである。
スナッカッタよ、たとえばここに、毒を厚く塗りたくった矢に射られた人がいるとしよう。その傷を時に応じて洗い、時に応じて傷口に薬を塗るがよい。さもなくば、膿と血とで傷口が覆われてしまうであろう。風と日差しの中をあまり歩き回るではない。さもなくば、塵や垢が傷を汚してしまうであろう。友よ、その傷を大切にし、いたわり、癒すがよい。
そこで、その人の友人や仲間、親族や縁者たちは、外科医を呼んでその傷を治療させるであろう。外科医はメスをもって傷口を切り開き、丁寧に処置を施すのである。
