中部経典（MN103 §8.12–8.9）
So you should remember what has been correctly memorized as correctly memorized. Remembering this, you should speak on the teaching and the training. ‘These two venerables agree on both the meaning and the phrasing.’ So you should approach whichever mendicant you think is most amenable and say to them: ‘The venerables agree on both the meaning and the phrasing. かくして、正しく把握されたものは、正しく把握されたものとして保持されるべきである。これを保持したうえで、その法（ダンマ）とその律（ヴィナヤ）とを語るべきである。
「これらの尊者方は、意味においても一致し、文言においても一致している」と判明したならば、そのうち物わかりのよいと思われる比丘（ビク）のもとに赴いて、次のように告げるべきである。
「尊者方は、意味においても一致し、文言においても一致しておられます。しかし尊者方は、いかにして意味においても文言においても一致するに至ったか、そのことをも正しく知られるべきであります。どうか尊者方よ、諍い（ヴィヴァーダ）に陥ることのないように」と。
