Why don’t I make an effort to realize the same teaching that Rāma said he had realized with his own insight?’ I quickly realized that teaching with my own insight, and lived having achieved it. Uddaka replied, ‘Stay, venerable. This teaching is such that a sensible person can soon realize their own tradition with their own insight and live having achieved it.’ I quickly memorized that teaching. 「ラーマが自ら勝知（abhiññā）して証得し、その中に住したと説いたその法（dhamma）を、わたしもまた証得するために励もうではないか」と。
バーラドヴァージャよ、かくしてわたしは、ほどなく速やかに、その法を自ら勝知して証得し、その中に住した。
そのように申し上げると、バーラドヴァージャよ、ウッダカ・ラーマプッタはわたしにこう言った。「尊者よ、どうかここに留まりたまえ。この法はかくのごときものである。賢明なる人（viññū purisa）ならば、ほどなくして、その師の伝える法を自ら勝知して証得し、その中に住することができるであろう」と。
バーラドヴァージャよ、かくしてわたしは、ほどなく速やかに、その法を余すところなく受持（pariyāpuṇi）した。
