「では、ダーナンジャーニよ、梵天（ブラフマー）と共にある境地へと至る道とは何か。
ここに、ダーナンジャーニよ、比丘が慈（メッター）を伴う心をもって、一つの方向へと遍満させて住する。同じく第二の方向へも、第三の方向へも、第四の方向へも遍満させて住する。かくのごとく、上へも、下へも、横へも、あらゆるところへ、すべてにわたって、慈を伴う心をもって――広大にして、崇高にして、無量にして、怨みなく、瞋恚（しんに）なき心をもって――この全世界を遍満させて住する。
ダーナンジャーニよ、これこそが梵天と共にある境地へと至る道である。
さらにまた、ダーナンジャーニよ、比丘が悲（カルナー）を伴う心をもって……喜（ムディター）を伴う心をもって……捨（ウペッカー）を伴う心をもって、同じく遍満させて住する。」
