あなた（カンキー師）は、母方・父方の両家系にわたって良き家柄に生まれ、七代前の祖先の代にまで遡っても清浄な血筋をお持ちであり、その出自（ジャーティ）において何人にも論難されることなく、非難の余地がありません。まさにこの理由ゆえに、カンキー師みずからが沙門ゴータマのもとへ赴くことは相応しくなく、むしろ沙門ゴータマの方こそ、カンキー師のもとへ参上するのが相応しいのであります。また、カンキー師は富み、大いなる財と豊かな資産をお持ちであります。……さらに、カンキー師は三ヴェーダ（tevijja）に精通し、その語彙・祭式・音声・語義分類、そして伝承の義解（itihāsa）にいたるまで、よく誦持し、あまねく通達しておられます。
