「バーラドヴァージャよ、もし人に信（サッダー）があるならば、『これが私の信である』と語ることによって、その人は真実を守護する。しかしながら、その段階においては、いまだ『これのみが真実であり、他はすべて虚妄である』という断定的な結論には至っていない。バーラドヴァージャよ、もし人に好み（ルチ）があるならば……もし人に伝承（アヌッサヴァ）があるならば……もし人に道理による思索（アーカーラパリヴィタッカ）があるならば……」
「ゴータマ様、それほどまでのことが真実の随護（サッチャーヌラッカナー）というものでございましょう。それほどまでのことによって、人は真実を守護するのでございましょう。私どもも、真実の随護とはそのようなものであると見ております。されば、ゴータマ様、いかほどのことが真実の現覚（サッチャーヌボーダ）となるのでございましょうか。いかほどのことによって人は真実に目覚めるのでございましょうか」
