He has realized with his own insight this world—with its gods, Māras, and divinities, this population with its ascetics and brahmins, gods and humans—and he makes it known to others. He proclaims a teaching that is good in the beginning, good in the middle, and good in the end, meaningful and well-phrased. And he reveals a spiritual practice that’s entirely full and pure. 彼は、神々・悪魔（マーラ）・梵天（ぼんてん）を含むこの世界を、また沙門（しゃもん）・婆羅門（ばらもん）・神々・人々からなるこの衆生を、みずから直接に知り（abhiññā）証して、そのことを他者に告げ知らせる。彼は、初めも善く、中ごろも善く、終わりも善く、意義をそなえ、文辞ととのった法（ダンマ）を説き示す。そして、完全に円満にして清浄なる梵行（ぼんぎょう・brahmacariya）を明らかにする。かかる阿羅漢（あらかん）にまみえることは、まことに善きことである」と。
「諸人よ、耳を傾けよ、
望む者は、さあ来たれ。
われはここに出家せん（pabbajissāmi）、
勝れた智慧（paññā）をそなえる師のみもとに」と。
眼ある者（cakkhumā）の語る言葉のとおりに、
矢を抜く大勇者（sallakatto mahāvīro）は、
獅子のごとく、森に吼ゆる。
