中部経典（MN85 §44.16–44.3）
In just the same way, All-seer, so intelligent, having ascended the Temple of Truth, rid of sorrow, look upon the people swamped with sorrow, overcome by rebirth and old age. ‘Oh lord! The world will be lost, the world will perish! For the mind of the Realized One, the perfected one, the fully awakened Buddha, inclines to remaining passive, not to teaching the Dhamma.’ Rise, hero! Victor in battle, caravan leader, wander the world free of debt. Let the Blessed One teach the Dhamma! There will be
まさにそのごとく、一切を見渡す者（サマンタチャックhu）よ、智慧（スメーダ）にあふれ、真理の殿堂（法楼）に登りたまいて、憂愁（ソーカ）を脱し、悲しみに沈む人々を、生（ジャーティ）と老（ジャラー）に打ちひしがれた衆生を、あまねく見そなわしたまえ。
「ああ、世界は滅びゆくであろう。世界は失われゆくであろう。如来（タターガタ）、応供（アラハント）、正等覚者（サンマーサンブッダ）の御心が、法（ダンマ）を説くことへではなく、ただ無為に留まることへと傾いているとは」
起ちたまえ、英雄よ、戦いに勝利せる者よ。無借（アナーナ）にして、隊商の長（サッタワーハ）として、世界をめぐりたまえ。世尊よ、どうか法（ダンマ）を説きたまえ。悟りを開く者たちが、必ずや現れるであろう、と。
さて、王子よ、梵天サハンパティは——ちょうど力ある人が、曲げた腕を伸ばすように、あるいは伸ばした腕を曲げるように——
