Anujānātha maṁ agārasmā anagāriyaṁ pabbajjāyā”ti. Evaṁ vutte, raṭṭhapālassa kulaputtassa mātāpitaro raṭṭhapālaṁ kulaputtaṁ etadavocuṁ: “tvaṁ khosi, tāta raṭṭhapāla, amhākaṁ ekaputtako piyo manāpo sukhedhito sukhaparibhato. Na tvaṁ, tāta raṭṭhapāla, kassaci dukkhassa jānāsi. (…) Maraṇenapi te mayaṁ akāmakā vinā bhavissāma. Kiṁ pana mayaṁ taṁ jīvantaṁ anujānissāma agārasmā anagāriyaṁ pabbajjāyā”ti?
