Then Raṭṭhapāla, having spoke this verse while standing, went to King Koravya’s deer range and sat at the root of a tree for the day’s meditation. Then King Koravya addressed his gamekeeper, “My good gamekeeper, tidy up the park of the deer range. We will go to see the scenery.” “Yes, Your Majesty,” replied the gamekeeper. そのとき、ラッタパーラ長老（āyasmā Raṭṭhapāla）は、立ったままこの偈（gāthā）を説き終えると、コーラブヤ王の鹿苑（migacīra）へと赴いた。そこに至りて、ある樹の根もとに坐し、昼間の静坐（divāvihāra）に入った。
やがてコーラブヤ王は猟場番（migava）に告げた。「友よ、猟場番よ、鹿苑の園地を清め整えよ。われらはかの佳き地を見に参ろう」と。「御意のままに、大王よ」と猟場番はコーラブヤ王に答え、鹿苑を清め整えながら、ある樹の根もとに昼間の静坐に入られているラッタパーラ長老のお姿を見た。これを見て、彼はコーラブヤ王のもとへ参上し、こう申し上げた。「大王よ、鹿苑はすでに整えられております。そして、ラッタパーラと申される——」
