「カッチャーナよ、汝はいかに思うか。暗夜の闇の中にある蛍（きみ）と、暗夜の闇の中にある油灯（やとう）と、この二つの光のうち、いずれがより勝れ、よりすぐれたる光輝を持つであろうか」
「ゴータマ尊者よ、暗夜の闇の中にある油灯こそ、この二つの光のうち、より勝れ、よりすぐれたる光輝を持つものでございます」
