「ウダーイよ、汝はいかに思うか。夜の闇の中に燃え盛る大きな火の塊と、雲ひとつなく晴れわたった夜明けの空に輝く明けの明星（osadhitārakā）と、この二つの光輝のうち、いずれがより勝れ、より尊いと言えるであろうか。」
「尊師よ、雲ひとつなく晴れわたった夜明けの空に輝く明けの明星こそ、この二つの光輝のうち、より勝れ、より尊いものであります。」
