Here comes Pañcakaṅga, a disciple of the ascetic Gotama. He is included among the white-clothed lay disciples of the ascetic Gotama, who is residing in Sāvatthī. Such venerables like the quiet, are educated to be quiet, and praise the quiet. Hopefully if he sees that our assembly is quiet he’ll see fit to approach.” Then Pañcakaṅga approached Uggāhamāna, and exchanged greetings with him. 「ゴータマ沙門の弟子、大工のパンチャカンガがやって来る。彼はサーヴァッティーに住む、ゴータマ沙門の白衣（びゃくえ）の在家弟子たちのうちの一人である。さて、あの尊い方々は静寂（しじま）を好み、静寂のうちに調えられ、静寂を讃えるとお聞きする。われらの集いが静かであるとわかれば、あるいは近づいて来られるかもしれぬ。」
そこで大工のパンチャカンガは、遍歴行者（へんれきぎょうじゃ）ウッガーハマーナ・サマナムンディカープッタのもとへと赴いた。赴いて、遍歴行者ウッガーハマーナ・サマナムンディカープッタと挨拶を交わした。
