さらにまた、ウダーイよ、私は弟子たちに修行の道（パティパダー）を説き示した。その道にしたがって修行するならば、私の弟子たちは五根（パンチンドリヤ）を修め育てる。
ウダーイよ、ここに比丘は、寂静（ウパサマ）へと導き、正覚（サンボーディ）へと導く、信根（サッジンドリヤ）を修め育てる。精進根（ヴィーリヤンドリヤ）を修め育て……念根（サティンドリヤ）を修め育て……定根（サマーディンドリヤ）を修め育て……そして寂静へと導き、正覚へと導く、慧根（パンニンドリヤ）を修め育てる。
そして実に、私の多くの弟子たちは、そこにおいて、勝智（アビンニャー）の完成・究極の極みに達して住している。
さらにまた、ウダーイよ、私は弟子たちに修行の道を説き示した。その道にしたがって修行するならば、私の弟子たちは五力（パンチャ・バラーニ）を修め育てる。
ウダーイよ、ここに比丘は、信力（サッダーバラ）を修め育て……
