「友よ、僧伽（サンガ）に赴き僧伽の中に住する阿練若（あれんにゃ）の比丘は、梵行（ぼんぎょう）を共にする者たちに対して、恭敬（くぎょう）と礼敬（らいきょう）をもって接しなければならない。友よ、もし僧伽に赴き僧伽の中に住する阿練若の比丘が、梵行を共にする者たちに対して恭敬なく礼敬なく振る舞うならば、かならずや次のように言う者たちが現れるであろう。『この尊者は阿練若の独り住まいにおいて自由気ままに過ごしておられるというのに、梵行を共にする者たちに対してかくも恭敬なく礼敬なきとは、いったい何のための阿練若の生活であろうか』と。それゆえに、僧伽に赴き僧伽の中に住する阿練若の比丘は、梵行を共にする者たちに対して、恭敬と礼敬をもって接しなければならない。友よ、僧伽に赴き僧伽の中に住する阿練若の比丘は……」
