「尊師よ、どうか世尊は、わたくしの過ちを過ちとして受け容れてくださいますように。今後は自らを慎んでまいります」
「バッダーリよ、まことにそなたは過ちを犯した。それは愚かなること、迷えること、不善（アクサラ）なることであった。すなわち、世尊が学処（シッカーパダ）を制定し、比丘僧伽（サンガ）がこれを受持しようとしているまさにそのとき、そなたはみずから修学に励まぬと申し出たのである。そなたはまたこのことにも思い至らなかった。『サーヴァッティーにおいて安居（ヴァッサ）に入った比丘尼たちは大勢おり、彼女たちもわたくしのことを知るであろう。サーヴァッティーに住む優婆塞（ウパーサカ）たちも大勢おり、彼らもわたくしのことを知るであろう。サーヴァッティーに住む優婆夷（ウパーシカー）たちも大勢おり、彼女たちもわたくしのことを知るであろう』と——」
