「また、居士たちよ、これらの沙門・婆羅門（さもん・ばらもん）の中に、まさしく正反対のことを説く者どもがある。彼らはこのように説く。『あらゆる意味において、有（う）の滅尽（めつじん）というものが存在する』と。居士たちよ、どのように思うか。これらの沙門・婆羅門は、互いに正反対のことを説く者どもではないか」と。「そのとおりでございます、尊者よ」と。
「居士たちよ、そこで賢明なる人は、かくのごとく思惟（しゆい）する。『無色にして想（そう）よりなる天界の神々のもとに、わたしは必ずや生まれることになるであろう。しかるに、「あらゆる意味において有の滅尽（めつじん）というものが存在する」と、かくのごとく説き、かくのごとく見解を持つ彼の尊き沙門・婆羅門たちの言葉がまことであるならば――』
