神通力（じんつうりき）をもって身を固め、神々をも畏敬せしめる者——
闇の者（カーニャ）よ、かくのごとき者を直接に知り尽くした
仏陀の弟子たる比丘を汝が侵さば、
汝みずから苦（ドゥッカ）に堕ちるであろう。
われはかつて勝利の宮殿（ヴェージャヤンタ宮）において、
帝釈天（サッカ）に問いたてた者なり——
「ヴァーサヴァよ、汝はいまだ覚えておるか」と。
闇の者（カーニャ）よ、汝もまた苦に堕ちるであろう。
