「おそらくこの者もまた、わが手中に落ちたであろう。おそらくこの者もまた、わが支配（vasaṅgata）のもとにあるであろう」と、汝はそのように思うであろう。しかし、悪魔（pāpima）よ、われはそなたの手中に落ちてはおらず、そなたの支配のもとにもない。」
比丘たちよ、わたしがこのように語り終えると、梵天バカ（Baka brahmā）はわたしにこう言った。「もし汝が水に執著（upādāna）し……火に執著し……風に執著し……諸々の生きとし生けるもの（bhūta）に執著し……諸天（deva）に執著し……造物主プラジャーパティ（Pajāpati）に執著するならば……」
