The Realized One would answer, ‘Clean things can be seen and heard in the Realized One. I am the scope and the range of that, but I am not determined by that.’ A disciple ought to approach a teacher who has such a doctrine in order to listen to the teaching. 如来（にょらい）は、かくのごとく答えるであろう。「眼と耳とによって識られうる、清浄なる諸法（もろもろのダンマ）は、如来のうちに存在する。それらは、まさに我が行境（ぎょうきょう）であり、我が所行の地（ゴーチャラ）である。しかれども、如来はそれらによって規定されるものではない」と。
比丘（びく）たちよ、かかる教えを説く師のもとに、弟子はまさに近づいて、法（ダンマ）を聴聞するに値するのである。
師はその弟子のために、より高く、またより高く、より深く、またより深く、闇と光との両面をそなえた法を説き示す。
比丘たちよ、師が比丘のために、かくのごとくに、より高く、またより高く、より深く、またより深く、闇と光との両面をそなえた法を説き示すにしたがって、その比丘は、説き示されたごとく、その法のうちのある法を直知（じきち）し——
