捨覚支が自らの内にある時、比丘はそれを「捨覚支が我が内にあり」と知る。捨覚支が自らの内にない時、比丘はそれを「捨覚支が我が内にあらず」と知る。また、未だ生じていない捨覚支がいかにして生ずるかを知り、既に生じた捨覚支がいかにして修習によって円満成就するかを知る。このようにして、比丘は内に、外に、また内外ともに、法を法として観察しながら住する。
