では、駆除によって断ぜられるべき煩悩とは何か。
ここに一人の比丘がいる。正しく如理作意しつつ、生起した欲尋・瞋尋・害尋を忍受せず、これを捨断し、除去し、滅尽し、消滅せしめる。生起したあらゆる不善の諸法を忍受せず、これを捨断し、除去し、滅尽し、消滅せしめる。かくして、もし忍受するならば生じたであろう苦悩と熱悩の煩悩は、驱除することによって生じることなきに至る。
