So I have heard. At one time the Buddha was staying in the land of the Aṅgas, near the Aṅgan town named Āpaṇa. かくの如く、我れ聞けり。ある時、世尊はアンガ国のアーパナという町の近くに滞在しておられた。その時、世尊はサーリプッタ尊者に向かってこう仰せられた。「サーリプッタよ、如来に対して確信を抱き、深く帰依した聖なる弟子は、如来もしくはその教法について、いかなる疑惑や迷いを抱くことがあるであろうか。」「世尊よ、如来に対して確信を抱き、深く帰依した聖なる弟子は、如来もしくはその教法について、いかなる疑惑や迷いをも抱くことはございません。信心篤き聖なる弟子には、まさにそのことが期待されるのでございます。」
