Those who have given up greed, hate, and delusion—so they’re cut off at the root, made like a palm stump, obliterated, and unable to arise in the future—are Holy
「サーリプッタ尊者よ、この世において、誰が正法を説く者でありましょうか。誰がこの世において正しく修行する者でありましょうか。誰がこの世における聖者でありましょうか。」
「尊者よ、貪・瞋・癡を捨断するための法を説く者こそ、この世において正法を説く者であります。貪・瞋・癡を捨断するために修行する者こそ、この世において正しく修行する者であります。そして、貪・瞋・癡をすでに捨断し、根を断ち切られたる多羅樹の如く、滅し尽くされ、未来永劫に再び生ずることなき者こそ、この世における聖者であります。」
