1. The Story of Sunakkhatta So I have heard. At one time the Buddha was staying in the land of the Mallas, near the Mallian town named Anupiya. Then the Buddha robed up in the morning and, taking his bowl and robe, entered Anupiya for alms. Then it occurred to him, “It’s too early to wander for alms in Anupiya. Why don’t I go to visit the wanderer of the Bhaggava clan in his monastery?” Then Sunakkhatta came to me, bowed, and sat down to one side. I said to him, See how far you have strayed!’ Th
# スナッカッタの物語
このように私は聞いた。あるとき、世尊（バガヴァ）はマッラ族の地に滞在されており、マッラ族の町アヌピヤの近くにおられた。
そこで世尊は、午前中に衣（チーヴァラ）をまとい、鉢（パッタ）と衣を手にされて、アヌピヤへと托鉢のために入られた。するとこのような思いが世尊に起こった。
「アヌピヤで托鉢して回るにはまだあまりに早い。バッガヴァ族の遍歴行者（パリッバージャカ）の住む園精舎を訪ねてみようではないか」
そのとき、バッガヴァよ、リッチャヴィ族の子スナッカッタが私のもとへとやってきた。近づいてきて私を礼拝し、かたわらに坐した。
私は彼に告げた。「そなたがいかに道を踏み外してしまったか、よく見るがよい」
