At Sāvatthī. サーヴァッティーにて。「これが因であり、これが縁である。それによって、ある者は身体の滅尽の後、死して、卵生の鳳凰たちの眷属に生まれ変わるのである。」
そのとき、一人の比丘が世尊のもとに近づき、礼拝して一方に坐し、こう申し上げた。「世尊よ、いかなる因、いかなる縁によって、ある者は身体の滅尽の後、死して、卵生の鳳凰たちの眷属に生まれ変わるのでございましょうか。」
「比丘よ、それは、ある者が身・口・意の三業において、両種の行いをなす場合である。そして彼は聞いたことがある。『卵生の鳳凰たちは……』と。」
