舎衛城にて。
「汝らはかくのごとく識を観ずるか。『これは我がものにあらず、我はこれにあらず、これは我が自己にあらず』と」
「然り、世尊よ」
「善きかな、比丘らよ。識はまさにかくのごとく正しき智慧をもって真実に観ぜられるべし。『これは我がものにあらず、我はこれにあらず、これは我が自己にあらず』と。かくのごとく観ずれば……彼らは了知す。『……この境地においては、もはや更なるものは何もなし』と」
「比丘らよ、汝らはいかに思うか。汝らは色をかくのごとく観ずるか。『これは我がものにあらず、我はこれにあらず、これは我が自己にあらず』と」
「然り、世尊よ」
「善きかな、比丘らよ。色はまさにかくのごとく真実に観ぜられるべし。」
