At Sāvatthī. They’re called an unlearned ordinary person who is bound to consciousness, inside and out. They see neither the near shore nor the far shore. They’re born in bonds and die in bonds, and in bonds they go from this world to the next. “Mendicants, take an unlearned ordinary person who has not seen the noble ones, and is neither skilled nor trained in the teaching of the noble ones. They’ve not seen true persons, and are neither skilled nor trained in the teaching of the true persons. T
舎衛城にて。
識に縛られたる者――内にも外にも識に束縛されたる者――これを無聞の凡夫と呼ぶ。かかる者は此岸をも見ず、彼岸をも見ず、縛られたまま生まれ、縛られたまま死に、縛られたままこの世より来世へと赴くのである。
「比丘たちよ、聖者たちに親しみ見えることなく、聖者の法に熟達せず、聖者の法において訓練されていない無聞の凡夫を思え。また、真人たちに親しみ見えることなく、真人の法に熟達せず、真人の法において訓練されていない者を思え。
