At Sāvatthī. “Mendicants, when the perception of impermanence is developed and cultivated it eliminates all desire for sensual pleasures, for rebirth in the realm of luminous form, and for rebirth in a future life. The radiance of all the stars is not worth a sixteenth part of the moon’s radiance, so the moon’s radiance is said to be the best of them all. 舎衛城にて。「比丘たちよ、無常想を修習し、繰り返し修めるならば、それはあらゆる欲楽への渇愛を滅し、色界への再生を求める渇愛を滅し、来世への再生を求める渇愛を滅するのである。それはあらゆる無明を滅し、『我あり』という慢をことごとく根絶するのである。すべての星々の光輝は、月の光輝の十六分の一にも及ばない。それゆえ月の光輝こそが、それらの中で最勝と説かれる。同じく、無常想を修習し、繰り返し修めるならば……それはことごとく根絶するのである。
