舎衛城にて。……想……行……識において、常住し、恒久であり、永遠にして不滅、永劫に変わらぬものなど存在するのであろうか」と。
かたわらに座したその比丘は、世尊に向かってこう申し上げた。「世尊よ、いかなる色においても、常住し、恒久であり、永遠にして不滅、永劫に変わらぬものが存在するのでありましょうか。いかなる受においても……想においても……行においても……識においても、常住し、恒久であり、永遠にして不滅、永劫に変わらぬものが存在するのでありましょうか」と。
