Are sights permanent or impermanent?” “Impermanent, sir.” … “… sounds … smells … tastes … touches … Are ideas permanent or impermanent?”
舎衛城にて。「無常にございます、尊者よ」……「このように観ずるならば、多聞の聖弟子は、色・声・香・味・触・法に対して厭離を生ずる。厭離するがゆえに、貪欲は滅し去る。……」「ラーフラよ、汝はいかに思うか。色は常住なりや、それとも無常なりや」「無常にございます、尊者よ」……「……声は……香は……味は……触は……法は常住なりや、それとも無常なりや」
