「利養・恭敬・名声は恐ろしきものなり……信心篤き優婆夷が、愛しく慈しむ一人娘に対し、こう諭すのは正しきことである。『わが愛し子よ、どうかクッジュッタラー優婆夷のように、またナンダの母ヴェールカンタキー優婆夷のようにあってほしい』と。これらの方々こそ、わが女性在家弟子たちの規範にして手本である。すなわち、クッジュッタラー優婆夷、ヴェールカンタキー優婆夷たちこそが……」
