At Sāvatthī. “Mendicants, if there were no gratification in the earth element, sentient beings wouldn’t be aroused by it. But since there is gratification in the earth element, sentient beings are aroused by it. If the earth element had no drawback, sentient beings wouldn’t grow disillusioned with it. 舎衛城にて。「比丘たちよ、もし地界に楽味がなければ、衆生はそれに魅了されることはないであろう。しかるに地界には楽味があるがゆえに、衆生はそれに魅了されるのである。もし地界に過患がなければ、衆生はそれに厭離することはないであろう。しかるに地界には過患があるがゆえに、衆生はそれに厭離するのである。もし地界からの出離がなければ、衆生はそれより出離することはないであろう。しかるに地界には出離があるがゆえに、衆生はそれより出離するのである。
