Near Rājagaha, in the Bamboo Grove. Then Venerable Sāriputta robed up in the morning and, taking his bowl and robe, entered Rājagaha for alms. Then it occurred to him, “It’s too early to wander for alms in Rājagaha. Why don’t I visit the monastery of the wanderers of other religions?” In the case of those who declare that suffering is made by oneself, it’s impossible that they will experience that without contact. … In the case of those who declare that suffering arises anomalously, not made by
王舎城の竹林精舎にて。ある朝、尊者舎利弗は衣を整え、鉢と衣を携えて、王舎城へと托鉢に入られた。そのとき、彼の心にこのような思いが生じた。「王舎城での托鉢にはまだ時が早い。他の外道の修行者たちの精舎を訪ねてみてはどうか」と。
苦しみは自己によって作られると説く者たちの場合、触れること（触）なくしてその苦しみを経験することは不可能である。……また、苦しみは自己によっても他者によっても作られることなく、突如として生起すると説く者たちの場合もまた然り。
